Initial Registration

1. Disqualification of registration

Your application would be disqualified if you are:
  1. Sole trader that does not have an address in Japan. 
  2. Juridical person that is not based in Japan.
However, if you have assigned a customs business manager, you may still register for a JASTPRO code with your
Please also note that we could only issue 1 code for 1 juridical person or sole trader. For registration for branches, please refer to 'Branch Code Registration' page.

2. Required Documentations

(1) For Juridical Person

  1. Registration Application (via online or printed application form)
  2. A copy of company seal registration (within 3 months upon issuance)
  3. A copy of Notification of Corporate Number, OR copy of corporate page on the Corporate Number Publication Site of the National Tax Agency, Japan
  4. Bank transfer receipt of registration administration fee (¥6,600)

(2) For Sole Traders

  1. Registration Application (via online or printed application form)
  2. Copy of resident certificate (within 3 months upon issuance) *with no Social Security and Tax Number printed on*
  3. Bank transfer of administration fee (¥6,600)

(3) For Non-residents

  1. Registration Application (via printed application form only)
  2. A copy of Report on the Attorney for the Customs Procedures (approved by the Customs)
  3. Bank transfer of administration fee (¥6,600)

3. Notes

  1. Application using printed form would only be accepted if it is submitted by post or in person.
  2. After confirmation by staff of the application form, attachments and administration fee transfer, a registration notification letter (also acting as receipt) would be sent around 10 days upon application to the registered address.
  3. If there is any change in the name and address, kindly please notify us via Information Update application.
  4. JASTPRO Code would be valid for 3 years.
    Renewal reminder would be sent by post 3 months before expiration.
    Kindly note that if you do not apply for code renewal, the code would be deleted from the system.

4. Guideline on New Registration

Step 1. Go to the Initial Registration Page, Accept Terms and Conditions

  • Scroll down to the bottom of this page, and click on the 'Initial Registration' button .
  • Fill in the CAPTCHA, then click 'OK'.
  • Click on the 'Initial Registration' button in the middle.
  • Read the terms and conditions, tick 'Accept', then click on 'Initial Registration (for Company)' or 'Initial Registration (For Sole Traders).

Step 2. Fill in Information

  • Fill in required registration information, payment method, contact information of the applicant, information of the agent (if applicable), and choose the information that you are willing to make public. Click on the 'Confirm' button.

    Blanks with asterisk (*) must be filled in.

 

Step 3. Confirm Entered Information and Submit

  • Kindly confirm your data input.
  • Upon confirmation, click on the 'Submit' button.
  • An automatic notification email would be sent to your registered email address.

Step 4. Sending Attachments and Making Payment

  • Please submit the documents specified in '2. Required Documentations' by post or in person to the following address, or via fax.

Step 5. Receiving Registration Confirmation Email, and Registration Notification Letter (Receipt)

  • Upon successful registration, a registration confirmation email would be sent to your registered email address. The code would be ready for import/export declaration 2 business days after the notification date.
  • A registration notification letter (also acting as receipt) would be sent to the registered address.
    Please prepare your company signage outside the building for timely delivery of the post.
