Registered Information Update

1. Refusal of Update

Your request of updates would be declined in the below situations:
  1. If you attempt to change your name from a company to a sole trader.
  2. If you attempt to change from sole trader to a company while the representative would be changed as well. Please contact us before you apply for the update.
  3. If the corporate number is changed due to merging or split-up.
    Information update could not be processed if import/export business succession could not be confirmed. Please contact us before you apply for the update.

  4. If your code is a 12-digit code that starts with number '1'. Since it is a Customs-issued code, please contact the Customs for inquiry regarding the code.
    JASTPRO code is a 12-digit code that starts with alphabet 'P'.

2. Required Documentations

(1) For Juridical Person

  1. Information Updates application (via online or printed application form) 
  2. (For update on address only)
    - A copy of company seal registration (issued within 3 months) OR
    - A copy of Certificate of All Historical Matters (issued within 3 months)
  3. (For change in company name)
    - A copy of company seal registration (issued within 3 months) AND
    - A copy of Certificate of All Historical Matters (issued within 3 months), that could clearly state the
    change from the old to the new company name.
  4. Bank transfer of administration fee (¥1,320)

(2) For Sole Traders

  1. Information Updates application (via online or printed application form)
  2. A copy of resident certificate (within 3 months upon issuance) *with no Social Security and Tax Number printed on* 
  3. Bank transfer of administration fee (¥1,320) 
  4. (If the state of enterprise is to be changed from sole trader to company) 
    Instead of resident certificate, please provide the following documents.
    - A copy of company seal registration (within 3 months upon issuance) AND
    - A copy of Notification of Corporate Number

(3) For Non-residents

  1. Information Updates application (via printed application form only)
  2. Copy of Report on the Attorney for the Customs Procedures (approved by the Customs) 
  3. Bank transfer of administration fee (¥1,320) 

3. Notes

Administration fee shall, or shall not be charged for the below updates:
  1. Conditions where administration fee shall be charged:
  ① Change in names (Including that in English name)
  ② Change in address
  1. Conditions where administration fee shall NOT be charged:
  ① Change in address due to mergers and dissolutions of municipalities
  ② Change in building name or room number
  ③ Change in telephone/fax number
  ④ Change in email address of contact point
  1. After confirmation by staff of the application, attachments and administration fee transfer, an update notification letter would be sent along with the receipt around 10 days upon application. 
  2. Application made by printed form would only be accepted if it is submitted by post or in person. 

4. Guideline on Information Update

Step 1. Go to the Apply for Information Update Page

  • Scroll down to the bottom of this page, and click on the 'Information Update' button .
  • Fill in the CAPTCHA, then click 'OK'.
  • Key in your JASTPRO Code and password. Click on the 'Update, Branch Number Registration, and View Registered Info' button.
  • Click on the 'View or Update Info' button, then choose 'Apply for updates (charged)' or 'Apply for updates (non-charged)'.

Step 2. Fill in Information to be Updated

  • Fill in the information to be updated, payment method, contact information of the applicant, information of the agent (if applicable), and choose the information that you are willing to make public. Click on the 'Confirm' button.

    Blanks with asterisk (*) must be filled in.

Step 3. Confirm Information and Submit

  • Confirm your data input.
  • Upon confirmation, click on the 'Submit' button.
  • An automatic notification email would be sent to your registered email address.

Step 4. Send Attachments and Making Payment

  • Please submit the documents specified in '2. Required Documentations' by post or in person to the following address, or via fax.

Step 5. Receive Confirmation Email and Update Notification Letter (Receipt)

  • Upon successful registration, a registration confirmation email would be sent to your registered email address. Updated information would be ready for import/export declaration 2 business days after the notification date.
  • An update notification letter (also acting as receipt) would be sent to the registered address.
    Please prepare your company signage outside the building for timely delivery of the post.
